The 100% Swiss Story

I used to work a lot in TeleSales.

The best part of it (working in tele sales), is that, some clients will blow your mind with their strange stories and strange logic. I, on behalf of my company’s name, offer to different businesses across Europe, packaging solutions.

100 swiss insights working in telesales

One day, I called a Swiss company that makes chocolate. The manager that I was talking to, from the very beginning, kept on arguing on why they do not need new suppliers or , in short, why he is frustrated with my disturbing phone call and he kept on having what I like to call a “prepared sweet saying NO answer”. Destiny made it such way, that previously with one day, I had read a serious information about our minds. That it is flat, in the sense, that when we are asked certain questions, to which we do not know the answers, we create the answers, we manipulate certain bits of information gathered in time, stuff that we recall, and based on this amalgam of non-sense, we create a logical answer to offer. The trick is that we believe it is true, even though it isn’t. We have a memory and we probe with what we see and we get a mismatch. Then, our minds try to overcome the limitations, by creating a sense in the mismatch, by adding something up, by making it up to have a sense.

The mind is an improviser. It’s faced with a problem and it figures out a solution. It is not actually looking inside itself. It’s cooking up a reason, an answer, it improvises.Having had that in mind, I asked my client a question that annoyed him so much that he ended up the conversation with a visible heard irritation in his voice, as if, he got caught.

What happened? His first reason to make me hung up the phone, was that they work with suppliers that are very close to them as it is good for having the packaging quickly made. I took the time to ask him what is their production time, and he replied something between 6 and 8 weeks. Then, I said:

-We can manufacture your packaging in 3 weeks (for the first order) and in 2 weeks (for repeat orders) and we have a one week delivery time. You can have it faster than your current supplier  and with no obligations to buy a certain amount of packaging, as most packaging companies do

-No, no, you see… We want to work with local suppliers, we have good relationships and we have been doing business for a long time, you know?, my client mumbled

-We have very good relationships with our clients too, and would like to be long term with you also.

Then, he interrupted my “sale speech” and stated very proud of himself, as if this is the ultimate characteristic that my company could not offer him.

-We only work with Swiss suppliers. We have the ingredients and materials for packaging, everything from Swiss companies. We want the product to be totally Swiss, I mean 100% Swiss, because we have standards.

And I started my quest to find that “logical” answer he was going to offer to me. I asked him in a certain naive way, very curious and as if, I did not understand:

-But the Swiss suppliers for ingredients … I mean, they cannot produce cocoa in Switzerland. They buy the ingredients from Switzerland, all the ingredients, and materials?

The thing is, that he did not see it coming, because, he was focused on saying NO to me.

-No, no, of course not, they buy it from all over the world, from where they get the best prices, as you think you are offering me now, you see, they buy from the best parts of the world for the best ingredients.

-Ok, so you buy the ingredients and probably the materials from packaging from all over the world ?

-Yes, well not us personally, our suppliers, of course, and we only work with these Swiss suppliers, I told you.

-But then it is not 100% Swiss chocolate, as you want it to appear for people or for your distributors.

-So, that is our suppliers thing, we have a standard to work with Swiss companies and make it 100% Swiss, he answered to me quite irritated that I dared to say that.

-But that it is not 100% Swiss! I replied smiling.

-Well, miss …  he was trying to mumble something. And

He hung me up. Obviously.

100 swiss insights working in telesales

A lot of the pictures we have in mind is not a perfect picture of what we actually see. We construct a lot on what we see, we are putting up together information to make it logic, to overcome the limitations we encounter in our way. My client had seen me as a limitation, as an obstacle to his perfect ending day probably. His mind wanted out, I wanted to keep him in with job matters. He would not listen, so his mind was doing everything that it could to deny everything and help him get out. It became logical to him to explain his reasons, as if it was clear that I do not represent a Swiss company, so I will leave the spot. And I didn’t. Instead, I told him through my questions, that his reasoning is twisted and I implied to him, it is a stupid thing to say No.

100 swiss insights working in telesales

I am wondering how many times, haven’t we invented reasons, logical answers to different situations life put us, and we answered the same way: denial, NO, hung up, shut the door.  How many times had we reasoned ourselves about our jobs ? About our paths ? About our 100% story.

It makes me wonder about the many 100%, that it appears in different areas of our lives, how much of it is really what it is told to be ?

How much of your 100% is committed, is loyal, is creative, is serious, is everything else that we state about ourselves ? And if it is not 100%, what is the rest of it made of ?

What is it that you are 100% and what is it that you are not ? Do you think it impacts in any way, your present life, or had impacted you so far, to get to where you are or where you want to go ?

The art of living consciously

I have listened to an audio book created by Nathaniel Branden, named “The Art of Living Consciously” and I would love to share with you some of its inspirational and motivational insights.

motivational-inspirational-article-blog-post-courage-dear-heart

First of all, in order to live more consciously we need to become aware of the contradictions that happen between our values and our behaviors. The author inspires us to choose sight over blindness, as we become better when we correct our mistakes than when we pretend they did not happen. As one of my favorite authors points it out:

“Facts do not cease to exist just because we choose to ignore them.” Aldous Huxley

Living consciously in an authentic self esteem requires eagerness to discover one’s errors and requires candor about admitting it.

As Maslow pinpoints it:

“There are no perfect human beings.”

If he said that, then we should not focus on trying to achieve perfection. We need to highlight the greatness and uniqueness that can be found within ourselves. We have all been blessed with gifts to share with this world. We simply need to discover those gifts inside our soul and choose to be open about it.

art of living consciously

I have discovered there are 2 traits we hold within ourselves. That is the optimalist who embraces the reality exactly as it is, including its not so good parts (the optimalist knows and he is fine with the fact that reality is not perfect AT ALL) and there is also the perfectionist that denies completely the reality and chases an impossible idea of mistake free perfectionism. These 2 aspects coexist within ourselves and we shift from one to another, depending on the situations we encounter and live in.

The challenge is to move from the situational perfectionism to the overall attitude of optimalism. As Carl Rogers invites us to think about it:

“The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction, not a destination.”

Another highlight would be to focus more on doing what works and less on what it does not work. One of the ideas of living consciously is to pay attention to what works and be captured by the principle in such way that you are able to multiply it and expand it to other situations and you are then able to do more stuff that works.

What do you do that really works for you?

What is it that you do and it makes your life flow?

What do you do that does not work for you? It is another important question to think about.

So the most important questions in this book are:

  1. What’s the number one thing that I can start doing consistently that would have the most positive impact on my life ?
  2. What is the number one thing that I can stop doing and that would have the most positive impact on my life ?

love laugh art of living consciously

Happiness is the experience of climbing the peek. So enjoy your road. That is why it is important to chose a road you like, a road you feel you would work hard on to reach a certain destination. But because the journey is long, you must enjoy yourselves during it and you must enjoy the road. Choose wisely, as you may not have time to go back the road and choose another path.

There is a very specific lesson I heard about in this book – that is – Be nice to yourself. When you are chasing perfectionism in everything that you, you tend to be ruthless on yourself, to punish yourself or postpone a certain kindness you wanted to treat yourself with. That is why it is important to give up perfectionism and focus on loving who you are now (as everything that happened to you so far, defines you) and be nice to yourself.

There are many books and many articles about surrendering your ego, about dissolving it as it hurts us.

I do not agree with it. (Click me!)

Freud said that the mind is divided into 3 parts: the ego (the conscious rational self), the superego (the conscious sometimes too rigid, committed to the rules of society part of the self) and the id (the desire for pleasure)

The ego is the driver that balances the lusty impulses of the id with the overbearing conditioning of the superego. In this metaphor (the horse ridden by a human with his father behind) the ego is the man, the id is the horse and the superego is the father, therefore a healthy ego is an absolute requirement to being a healthy fully functioning human being. Why ? Because if the man does not pay attention to the horses impulses to run and to his fathers overwhelming signs of how to ride the horse, how to make it obey without enslaving the horse, the man would not be able to ride it. We need to balance our impulses and our rigid thinking about our impulses. For this we have to strengthen the ego, not to dissolve it.

love laugh art of living consciously

To strengthen our egos, we should be more kind to ourselves. We should say thank you to ourselves more often (Kindly listen to this song here to love yourself more and be grateful for who you are now), we should be more engaged in our commitment to truly appreciate what we can do. As I would put it, through Maslow’s pyramid needs, in order to self realize yourself, you need shelter, food, water, a job, and then, you will be safe enough and clear enough to consider how to fulfill your life and help others do the same. You cannot ride a horse if you have a wounded leg or if you need food to have energy to ride it. As a comparison, you cannot teach someone to swim if you do not know how to.

That is why it is important to be good to yourself. If not you, who then ?

The last important lesson of this book is to understand that your life, your time on this Earth is important.

The realization of what is noble within you is the ultimate goal you can achieve. That is self-realization.

love laugh art of living consciously

There is nothing you can do that is more important than being fulfilled. You become a sign, you become a signal, transparent to transcendence. In this way, you will find, live and become a realization of your own personal myth.

Start now and answer the two questions – and follow the above guidelines to become more aware of living consciously. You will enjoy this article as well to enhance the information you just read.

Should and Must in the pursuit of passions and dreams

It is time you followed your dreams, passions and talents. The pursuit of happiness is the pursuit of your vocation. If you feel you are not living at the fullness of your life it is because you are not expressing the fullness of your gifts, of your talents, of your passions.

Here’s what Elle Luna, the author of a beautiful book I read in less than 1 hour, named “The Crossroads of Should and Must” advises us:

how to follow your dreams

how to follow your dreams

If you find yourself in the position I found myself as well, that you do not know why you are alive, then you need to ask yourself that question and follow the answers, because it is only you who has those answers.

How to follow your passions

Elle Luna is a wonderful writer who goes straight to the point and makes sure she clarifies every aspect of your quest to discover what you need to do in your life. I highly recommend for you to check her book here.

So, what is this book about anyway?

Obviously, about you and how you can discover the path to you mapping your future based on your vocation, on your gifts that are not used. Sometimes it is hard to pursue a vocation because school teaches us we need to study something based on our skills and aptitudes and excel in that field of operation. Of course, not always you are passionate about that. There is a distinction that we need to take into account and that Elle Luna explains so well in the pictures she has created in her book.

how to follow your path

how to follow your talents

Elle Luna explores these 3 aspects in a hypothesis.

“What if who we are and what we do become one and the same? What if our work is so thoroughly autobiographical that we can’t parse the product from the person? In this place, job descriptions and titles no longer make sense, we no longer go to work, we are the work.

how to make a career

how to follow your dreams

Should and Must are 2 concepts that Elle Luna refers to in order to explain the concept of pursuing your dreams and pursuing someone else’s dream. Should is something you should do, you should get a degree, you should get a job, you should get married, you should be that and do that. Shoulds are put on you from the moment you are born.

“You have to grow up under someone else’s wing. It’s a normal healthy process for parents to give Shoulds and for children to receive them. Because you – the child – must learn how to navigate the world. In addition to what you receive from your parents, you inherit a worldview from the community, culture and specific time into which you are born. As you grow up, you get to decide how you feel about that worldview. It is a natural process to become your own person, to find your voice, convictions, opinions and to challenge and shed the Shoulds that no longer serve your evolving beliefs. But sometimes, we linger in Should a little longer than expected.”

Elle Luna, The Crossroads of Should and Must

Must, on the other hand, is your soul. Your talents, your gifts. It is your way to attain the core desired feelings that bring you to your goals, to your soul, to your reason to be alive, to your pursuit of happiness. Must is your vocation.

“Must is who we are, what we believe, and what we do when we are alone with our truest, most authentic self. (…) Must is when we stop conforming to other people’s ideals and start connecting to our own – and this allows us to cultivate our full potential as individuals.

To choose Must is to say yes to hard work and constant effort, to say yes to a journey without a road map or guarantees, and in doing so, to say yes to <being alive>.” Choosing Must is the greatest thing we can do with our lives. ”

Elle Luna, The Crossroads of Should and Must

how to make a career

Should is the society’s expectations of what you need to do and become, it is what your parents dream of you to be and do, it is what it is easiest to do: to give up your dreams and become a tool in someone else’s courage to pursue their passions and vocations. Must is your true unique power, the one that got you onto this Earth, in this life, in your current situation. Must is hard to follow because it is so much easier to believe a lifetime of Shoulds, to go on the safe road instead of creating your own road.

Elle Luna gives some ideas on how to discover your gifts, the gifts that God gave you to become who you have chosen to become in this life, and if you find it is not simple for you to remember it, then here are some things for you to do.

how to follow your dreams and passions

guide to follow your dreams

guide to follow your dreams

Choosing Must DOES NOT MEAN QUITTING YOUR JOB.

Yes, it is exceptionally fundamental to follow your own talents and passions. Yes, you need to put that creative spark within you to work, however, you do not need to do something reckless in order to pursue your dream. For some people it works to just hand over their resignation letter, for some people, it works to work in parallel until an income arrives from the other activity. For some people, the passion does not come with an income. And that is ok.

It is ok to not get money from whatever you are gifted at or passionate about. It may mean that you are not ready yet, or that you need to work on your craft more to excel. It does not mean that you should stop doing that just because it is not paying off the bills.

For instance, I ran this website, but I am not being paid for it. I do it for my own pleasure, for my own ego, for my own need to do something creative. To be creative. It is nothing wrong in doing that. On the contrary, it is the best way to pursue a vocation, a dream, a passion. Because the more you experience your core desired feelings, the more you will wish to live all moments in those feelings. And that will make you change your life, little by little, with one step at a time, building your brand, and getting more confident in your passion, to be able to start gaining an income from it.

guide to follow your path

Getting doubts over your passions or over following your path or dreams, will only make you turn back to a lifetime of regretful of Shoulds.

If your life does not revolve solely on your Must, it does not mean it is a life full of Shoulds. It means you were able to balance the Must and the Shoulds, until you will reach the point of living in the Must.

how to follow your path

how to follow your path

how to follow your dreams

what if I fail

“Must feels inherently selfish at first. But when you choose Must, you inspire others to choose it, too. When you follow Must, every day, you impact not only what you create for your work, but also who you become in your life. This is how your work and your live become one and the same. When you choose Must, what you create is YOURSELF. It is a body of work. As you change, so too does your work. As you grow, so too does the creation. Your work lives and breathes because you live and breathe. When you live the fullness of your life, you lift the collective human experience.”

“You’re in your current job because of things you believed in the past. You drew it to you by your thinking. Perhaps you learned your attitude toward work from your parents. No matter—you can change your thinking now. So bless with love your boss, your co-workers, the location, the building, the elevators or stairs, the offices, the furniture, and each and every customer. This creates a loving mental atmosphere within you, and the entire environment will respond to it.

Thoughts can be changed, and situations can be changed as well. That boss whom we find intolerable could become our champion. That dead-end position with no hope of advancement may open up to a new career full of possibilities. The co-worker who is so annoying might turn out to be, if not a friend, at least someone who’s easier to get along with. The salary that we find insufficient can increase in the twinkle of an eye. We could find a wonderful new job. There are an infinite number of channels if we can change our thinking. Let’s open ourselves up to all the possibilities. We must accept in consciousness that abundance and fulfillment can come from anywhere.

www.dailyweeklyfavorites.com
The change may be small at first, such as an additional assignment from your boss in which you could demonstrate your intelligence and creativity. You might find that if you don’t treat a co-worker like they’re the enemy, a noticeable change in behavior may occur. Whatever the change may be, accept and rejoice in it. You’re not alone. You are the change. The Power that created you has given you the power to create your own experiences!”

If you like your job but feel that you’re not getting paid enough, then bless your current salary with love. Expressing gratitude for what you have now enables your income to grow. And please, absolutely no more complaining about the job or your co-workers. Your consciousness put you where you are now. Your changing consciousness can lift to you a better position. You can do it!”

“Another thing that can keep you from prospering is being dishonest. Whatever you give out comes back to you. Always. If you take from Life, then Life will take from you. It’s that simple. You may feel that you don’t steal, but are you counting the paper clips and stamps you’re taking home from the office? Or are you a person who steals time or robs others of respect—or perhaps steals relationships? All these things count and are a way of saying to the Universe: “I don’t really deserve the good in life. I have to sneak it and take it.”

Become aware of the beliefs that may be blocking the flow of money in your life. Then change those beliefs and begin to create new, abundant thinking. Even if no one else in your family has done this, you can open your mind to the concept of money flowing into your life. If you want to prosper, then you must use prosperity thinking.

There are two prosperity affirmations that I’ve used for many years, and they work well
for me. They’ll also work for you. They are:

“My income is constantly increasing,”
and
“I prosper wherever I turn.”

“As we learn to use affirmations, we may also be drawn to adopt a more holistic approach to living. The holistic philosophy is to nurture and nourish
the entire being—the Body, the Mind, and the Spirit. If we ignore any of these areas, we are incomplete; we lack wholeness. It doesn’t matter where we start as long as we also include the other areas.

If we begin with the body, we would want to work with nutrition, to learn the relationship between our choice of food and beverages, and how they
affect the way we feel. We want to make the best choices for our body. There are herbs and vitamins, homeopathy and Bach Flower Remedies.

We would want to find a form of exercise that appeals to us. We might want to explore some form of body work such as Rolfing, Heller Work or Trager. Massage, foot reflexology, acupuncture, or chiropractic work are all beneficial, as well. There is also the Alexander Method, Bioenergetics, Feldenkrais, Touch for Health, and Reiki forms of body work.

With the mind, there are lots of psychological techniques: Gestalt, hypnosis, rebirthing, psychodrama, past-life regressions, art therapy, and even
dream work. Meditation in any of its forms is a wonderful way to quiet the mind and allow your own “knowingness” to come to the surface.

Thoughts on how to map your future in this world

Achieving inner tranquility

“In our hectic lives the pathway to the enchanted world of peace and tranquility often eludes us. Perhaps we try too hard – we seek it here, we seek it there, and, our lives become even less tranquil than before. It is often said that tranquility lies in simple things – in reading a book, listening to a particular piece of music, walking through a gallery or visiting a park. When life is stressful, just close your eyes and shut out the world for a few moments and allow yourself to recreate those tranquil moments.”

This is 1000 paths to tranquility, by David Baird. Following I will include the paths that I feel the most connected to and I hope you will embrace their meaning and find your tranquility as well. If not, then maybe you may need to get the book and look through all of the 1000 paths. Enjoy !

Positive Efficient Affirmations for Health – Part 2

“The secret to having your affirmations work quickly and consistently is to prepare an atmosphere in which they can grow. Affirmations are like seeds planted in soil. Poor soil, poor growth. Rich soil, abundant growth. The more you choose thoughts that make you feel good, the quicker the affirmations work.”

Positive Efficient Affirmations for health

“The only moment you ever live in is this moment. It’s the only time you have any control over. If you don’t choose to feel good in this moment, then how can you create future moments that are abundant and fun?

“If you say, , this is not an affirmation for good health. You state clearly what you do want: I accept perfect health now.”

Positive Efficient Affirmations for health

Affirmations to use to balance and bring health back to your body, mind and soul:

I love and appreciate my body !

I allow my body to return to its natural, vibrant health.

I honor my body and I take good care of it.

“I believe that we live in a Universe. No matter what we choose to believe or think, the Universe always says yes to us. So we want to think and believe that we have the right to be healthy, that health is natural to us. The Universe will support and say yes to this belief. Be a person, and know that you live in a world, being responded to by a Universe.”

Positive Efficient Affirmations for health

“Be very clear that your body is always trying to maintain a state of optimal health, no matter how badly you treat it. If you take good care of your body, it will reward you with vibrant health and energy.”

“I believe that we contribute to every in our body. The body, as with everything else in life, is a mirror of our inner thoughts and beliefs. Our body is always talking to us, if we will only take the time to listen. Every cell within our bodies responds to every single thought we think.”

Positive Efficient Affirmations for health

“When we discover what the mental pattern is behind an illness, we have a chance to change the pattern, and, therefore, the disease. Most people don’t want to be sick on a conscious level, yet every disease that we have is a teacher. Illness is the body’s way of telling us that there’s a false idea in our consciousness. Something that we’re believing, saying or doing, or thinking is not for our highest good. I always picture the body tugging at us saying: <Please, pay attention!>”.

Positive Efficient Affirmations for health

Sometimes people do want to be sick. In our society, we have made illness a legitimate way to avoid responsibility or unpleasant situations. If we can’t learn to say no, then we may have to invent a disease to say no for us.”

True healing involves body, mind and spirit. I believe that if we cure an illness, yet we do not address the emotional and spiritual issues that surround that ailment, it will only manifest again.”

Exercise – Intensifying the Power of Affirmations

Writing an affirmation can intensify its power, so I would like you to write out a positive affirmation about your health for 25 times. You may create your own, or use one of the following:

My healing is already in process.

I deserve good health

I listen with love to my body’s messages.

My health is radiant, vibrant and dynamic now.

I am grateful for my perfect health.

I accept and deserve perfect health now.

I am confident and secure. Life is easy for me.

It is safe for me to be an adult.

Positive Efficient Affirmations for health

More affirmations to use for your health according to author Louise L. Hay of “21 Days to master affirmations” :

“Make these affirmations part of your daily routine. Say them often in your car, at work, while looking in the mirror or anytime you feel your negative beliefs surfacing.

 My body heals rapidly.

My body is ideal for me in this lifetime.

I love every cell of my body.

I am filled with energy and enthusiasm.

I am healthy and whole and filled with joy.

Good health is mine now. I release the past.

I go within and connect with that part of myself that knows how to heal.

I am the only person who has control over my eating habits. I can always resist something if I choose to.

Filling my mind with pleasant thoughts is the quickest road to health.

I allow life and vitality to flow through me.

I am grateful for my healthy body. I love life.

My body uses relaxation as a time to repair and rejuvenate itself. The more I relax, the healthier I am.

I take brief walks in the sunshine to invigorate my body and soul.

I am gentle with my body. I love myself.

I give myself permission to be well.

Positive Efficient Affirmations for health

“If you want to create better health in your body, there are definitely some things that you must not do: You must not get angry at your body for any reason. “

“Anger is another affirmation, and it’s telling your body that you hate it, or parts of it. Your cells are very aware of every thought you have. Think of your body as a servant that’s working as hard as it can to keep you in perfect health no matter how you treat it. Your body knows how to heal itself. If you feed it healthy foods and beverages, give it exercise and sufficient sleep, and think happy thoughts, then its work is easy. The cells are working in a happy, healthy atmosphere. However, if you’re a couch potato who feeds your body junk food and lots of diet soda, and you skip your sleep and are irritable all the time, then the cells in your body are working in a disadvantage. They are in a disagreeable atmosphere. If this is the case, it’s no wonder that your body isn’t as healthy as you would like it to be.”

Positive Efficient Affirmations for health

“You’ll never create good health by talking or thinking about your illness. Good health comes from love and appreciation. You want to put as much love into your body as you possibly can. Talk to it and stroke it in loving ways. If there’s a part of your body that’s ailing or diseased, then you want to treat it as you would with a sick little child. Tell it how much you love it, and that you are doing everything you can to help it get well quickly.”

Positive Efficient Affirmations for health

“If you are sick, then you want to do more than just go to the doctor and have him or her give you a chemical to take care of your symptom. Your body is telling you that something that you are doing isn’t good for your body. You need to learn more about health – the more you learn, the easier it is to take care of your body. You don’t want to choose to feel like a victim. If you do, you’ll be giving your power away. You could go to a health food store and pick up one of the many good books that teach you how to keep yourself healthy, or you could see a nutritionist and have a healthy diet created just for you, but whatever you do, create a healthy, happy mental atmosphere. Be a willing participant in your own health plan.”

Positive Efficient Affirmations for health

With respect to taking charge of your health, you may also want to consider using biologically active food supplements (BAFS and Smart foods or superfoods) which are natural complexes containing minerals, vitamins, dietary fibers, extracts of medicinal herbs, polyunsaturated fatty acids, amino-acids, etc. They make up for the respective deficiencies in nutrition, enhance assimilation of healthy substances, boost internal powers of the body and mitigate the risk of many diseases. Biologically active food supplements and smart food is something that I intake as well. I recommend Vision International People Group smart foods and BAFS, not because I work with them. It’s because they really work and I have seen wonderful results.  Educate yourself more on this by clicking this link !

Positive Efficient Affirmations for health

“I believe that we create every so called illness in our body. The body, like everything else in life, is a mirror of our inner thoughts and beliefs. Our body is always talking to us, we just need time to listen to it. Every cell within our body responds to every single thought we think and every word we speak.

Positive Efficient Affirmations for health

“Continuous modes of thinking and speaking produce body behaviors and postures and or dis-eases. The person who has a permanently scowling face didn’t produce that by having joyous, loving thoughts. Older people’s faces and bodies so clearly show a lifetime of thinking patterns.

How will you look when you’re elderly ? “

Positive Efficient Affirmations for health

“Learn to accept that your life is not a series of random events, but a pathway of awakening. If you live every day in this way, you will never grow old. You’ll just keep growing. Imagine the day you turn 49 years as the infancy of another life. A woman who reaches the age of 50 today and remains free of cancer and heart disease can expect to see her 92nd birthday.

photo-1428263197823-ce6a8620d1e1[1]

You and only you have the ability to customize your own life cycle.

So change your thinking now and get going! You are here for a very important reason, and everything you need is available to you.” (Do you remember that song from Savage Garden, Truly, Madly, Deeply ? In one part of the song, the lyrics go like this: “All that you need will surely come.”)

“You can choose to think thoughts that create a mental atmosphere that contributes to illness, or you can choose to think thoughts that create a healthy atmosphere both within you and around you.”

Positive Efficient Affirmations for health

More affirmations to use for boosting and enhancing health in your life :

Make these affirmations part of your daily routine. Say them often in the car, at work, while looking in the mirror, or anytime you feel your negative beliefs surfacing.

I enjoy the foods that are the best for my body.

I look forward to a healthy old age because I take loving care of my body now.

I am constantly discovering new ways to improve my health.  Maybe you want to try some Vision biologically active food supplements ?

I return my body to optimal health by giving it what it needs on every level.

I am pain free and totally in sync with life.

Healing happens ! I get my mind out of the way and allow the intelligence of my body to do its healing work naturally.

I balance my life between work, rest and play. They all get equal time.

I am willing to ask for help when I need it. I always choose the health professional who is just right for my needs.

I breathe deeply and fully. I take in the breath of life and I am nourished.

I get plenty of sleep every night. My body appreciates how I take care of it.

I lovingly do everything I can to assist my body in maintaining perfect health.

Perfect health is my Divine right, and I claim it now.

I devote a portion of my time to helping others. It is good for my own health.

Water is my favorite beverage. I drink lots of water to cleanse my body and mind.

My happy thoughts help create my healthy body.

Positive Efficient Affirmations for health

“There is a big difference between the need for love and being needy for love. When you’re needy for love, it means that you’re missing love and approval from the most important person you know – yourself. The first relationship to improve is the one you have with yourself. When you’re happy with yourself, then all of your other relationships improve too. A happy person is very attractive to others. If you’re looking for more love, then you need to love yourself more. This means no criticism, no complaining, no blaming, no whining, and no choosing to feel lonely. It means being very content with yourself in the present moment and choosing to think thoughts that make you feel good now.”

Positive Efficient Affirmations for health

“If something unpleasant happens to you during the day, immediately go to the mirror and say:

< I love you anyway. > Events come and go, but the love you have for yourself can be constant, and it’s the most important quality you possess in life. If something wonderful happens, got to the mirror and say: < Thank you. > Acknowledge yourself for creating this wonderful experience. First thing in the morning and last think in the evening, I want you to look into your eyes and say:

< I love you, I really love you. And I accept you exactly as you are. > It can be though at first, but if you stick with it, in a short time this affirmation will be true for you.”

Positive Efficient Affirmations for health

“Every thought you think counts, so don’t waste your precious thoughts.”

The benefits of making bad decisions

The followings are excerpts from the most recent book I am reading, named Whatever you think, think the opposite.

I could not put it into words better. The stories are short, straight to the point, clear, motivational and inspirational. It would be a shame for you not to benefit of these.

So here they are:

“Until the Mexico Olympics of 1968 the customary way for a high jumper  to cross the bar was with his body parallel to it, in a technique known as the Western Roll. But that was about to change. A little known athlete approached the bar, which was set at a world record height of 7ft 4 1/4 inches. He took off, but instead of turning his body towards the bar, he turned his back on it. He brought his legs up and flipped over the bar backwards. His name was Dick Fosbury, and his method of jumping became known as the Fosbury Flop. It is still used today. He jumped higher than anyone before, by thinking the opposite from everyone else. This example is just a technique for thinking, but here the technique for thinking became a technique for jumping, turning a flop into a success.”

Photographing Flowers

“Firstly we will pick a perfect specimen, then we will arrange it carefully, light it beautifully, and spray on some dew. It will probably be beautiful, but only up to a point, because we have seen thousands of pretty flower pictures before. So how are we going to make out picture memorable ? In the 1930s Andre Kertesz took a picture of a wilted tulip. Once you have seen it, it is impossible to forget.” Here is an example I found on the web:

Tea Time How to Drink your Tea

It is a wrong way to answer but it is a beautiful solution to the problem.

“There is a story of a professor who was bathing in the River Cherwell in Oxford, at a place called Parson’s Pleasure, in which it was the custom to swim naked. As the professor got out of the pool a punt of undergraduettes glided by, whereupon he grabbed his towel and wrapped it round his head.”

It’s not because you are making the wrong decisions, it’s because you are making the right ones. We try to make sensible decisions based on the facts in front of us. The problem with making sensible decisions is that so is everyone else.

It’s better to regret what you have done than what you haven’t.

Many people reach the age of 40, only to realize they have missed out of life. In many cases they had everything going for them, except when the gauntlet was tossed their way, they lacked the courage to pick it up. No one is going to cut off your right hand, take away your motorbike or put you in jail if you do not succeed. Even when we want to be timid and play it safe, we should pause for a moment to imagine what we might be missing.

“It’s the goal of every Englishman to get to his grave unembarrassed”, John Cleese.

You can’t afford the house of your dreams. That’s why it is the house of your dreams. So wither find a way to get it or be satisfied with dissatisfaction.”

“The corporate non-risk taker rises fast on the freshness of youth; an open mind, a pleasant demeanor and good looks will accelerate the rise. His superiors are pleased to promote him since it reflects well on them. The candidate reaches a platform of responsibility, not something to be treated lightly. After all he is now a manager, albeit a junior one. His salary raises in accordance with status, not ability, and he reaches board level. It is now time to appoint a joint or deputy managing director. Our man is considered to be a good company man, but he is a bit dull. He doesn’t produce innovation: he doesn’t do anything for the image of the company. There’s a very good young man in his department earning a third of his salary, who younger members of staff respond to. Our man at 40 is moved sideways, and at 47 he is out. He didn’t reach the top of the ladder, he has fallen and there is no climbing back. He’s finished, yet he has done nothing wrong. That is the problem. He has done nothing wrong.”

“Let’s look at reckless Erica. As a youngster she doesn’t have the charm of the previous character. Not the corporate type. She’s irritating but enthusiastic and popping with daft ideas. So they keep her on. Most of her ideas are regarded as impractical, too adventurous or plain silly. But somewhere in the company someone picks up on one of her wilder thoughts and promotes it. It gets noticed because it is different and fresh. For the next 3 years she produces a series of unusable ideas. She becomes increasingly irritating and she is fired. Now the odd thing is that it is not as difficult for her to get a new job as she thought, because a number of people remember that rather good idea she produced 3 years ago. They prefer to gloss over the failures. Her name on the payroll adds a bit of glamour to her new company. But the same process happens again. Once more she is fired, but now there are 2 pieces of work that make her memorable. She’s not just a one off. Her whole life is lived like this, a series of ups and downs, more downs than ups. But when she reaches the age of 40 she has a track record. She has become a respectable person. Still reckless Erica, but more in demand than ever because she failed to conform.”

“The age of unreason – Old golfers don’t win (it’s not an absolute, it’s a general rule). Why? The older golfer can hit the ball as far as the young one. He chips and putts equally well. And will probably have a better knowledge of the course. So why does he take the extra stroke that denies him victory? Experience. He knows the downsize, what happens if it goes wrong, which makes him more cautious. The young player is either ignorant or reckless to caution. That is his edge. It is the same with all of us. Knowledge makes us play safe. The secret is to remain childish.”

“How you present yourself is how others will value you”.

“Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else’s opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation.” Oscar Wilde.

What’s your opinion ?

“What is a good idea ? One that happens is. If it doesn’t, it isn’t.”

“Ideas are a matter of taste. A good idea is a clever solution to a problem, one that I have never seen before. But if an idea is not taken up and used as a solution to a problem it has no value.”

“Steal from anywhere that resonates with your inspiration or fuels your imagination. Select only things to steal from that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic. Authenticity is invaluable. Originality is non-existent. Remember what Jean-Luc Godart said: It’s not where you take things from – it’s where you take them to.

“Don’t go to University. – Going to university usually means I don;t know what to do with my life, so I will go to university. A gap year confirms this. They are delaying tactics. Some people are lucky enough to know what they want to do early in life. The majority have great difficulty in putting their assets to useful purpose. Going to university is not going to solve the problem. Whereas going to work will.

“Good marks will not secure you an interesting life. Your imagination will.”

Go to work. – If you start work at 18, you are 5 years ahead of someone starting at 23. At 23, for all your education, you will still be the office junior. If you get your career decisions wrong when you are young, you can alter the course, but at 28 it is a bit late to find out you are in the wrong job. So don’t go to university unless the subject of your learning is close to your heart. Got to work and do your learning in the school of life.

An interviewer with a wooden leg said to Frank Zappa With your long hair, from where I am sitting you could be a woman. Frank Zappa replied From where I am standing you could be a table.”

“The best piece of advice ever given was by the art director of Harper’s Bazaar, Alexey Brodovitch, to the young Richard Avedon, destined to become one of the world’s great photographers. The advice was simple:

ASTONISH ME!

Bear these words in mind, and whatever you do, will be creative.”

Positive Efficient Affirmations to Map your Future – Part 1

Recently I finished reading “21 Days to Master affirmations” by Louise L. Hay and it was a life changing insightful book that you MUST read.

I would like to include as usual, all my favorite “things” that are helpful and meaningful and I hope you will find this post enjoyable as well, in the same manner, I found the book.

“Life loves you and wants you to have the very best of it. Life wants you to have peace of mind, inner joy, confidence and an abundance of self-worth and self-love. You deserve to feel at ease in every moment of your life and you deserve to earn a good living.”

“An affirmation is everything you say or think. When I talk about affirmations, I mean consciously choosing words that will either help eliminate something from your life or help create something new in your life.”

“You need to pay attention to your thoughts so that you can begin to eliminate the ones creating experiences you do not want in life.”

Positive efficient affirmations to map your future

“The only moment you ever live in is this moment. It’s the only time you have any control over. If you don’t choose to feel good at this moment, then how can you create future moments that are abundant and fun ?”

“Affirmations are solutions that will replace whatever problem you might have. Whenever you have a problem, repeat over and over: All is well. Everything is working for my highest good. Out of this situation only good will come. I am safe.”

Positive efficient affirmations to map your future

“You were born extremely confident. You came into this world knowing how wonderful you are. You were so perfect when you were a tiny baby. You didn’t have to do anything – you were already perfect – and you acted as if you were aware of it. You knew you were the center of the Universe. You weren’t afraid to ask for what you wanted. You freely expressed your emotions. Your mother knew when you were angry – in fact, the entire neighborhood knew it. and when you were happy, your smile lit up the whole room. You were so full of love and confidence.”

Positive efficient affirmations to map your future

“Little babies will die if they don’t get love. Once we are older, we learn to live without love, but no baby will stand for that. Babies also love every inch of their bodies, even their own faces. They have no guilt, no shame, no comparisons. They know they are unique and wonderful. You were like that. Then somewhere during your childhood, your well-meaning parents passed on their own insecure feelings and taught you feelings of inadequacy and fear. At that point, you began to deny your own magnificence. These thoughts and feelings were never true, and they certainly aren’t true now. So I want to bring you back to the time when you really knew how to be confident.”

Positive efficient affirmations to map your future

“Be willing to allow the changes to happen when they come up in your life. Be aware that where you do not want change is exactly the area where you need to change the most. The Universal Intelligence is always responding to your thoughts and words.”

The following about health reminds me of Dr. Bach Flower remedy therapies, as it suggests the same idea, which of course, I have seen it in previous and numerous other holistic books.

Positive efficient affirmations to map your future

“I believe that we contribute to every illness in our body. The body, as with everything else in life, is a mirror of our inner thoughts and beliefs. Our body is always talking to us, if we only take the time to listen. Every cell within our bodies responds to every single thought we think. When we discover what the mental pattern is behind an illness, we have a chance to change the pattern and, therefore, the disease. Most people don’t want to be sick on a conscious lever, yet every disease that we have is a teacher. Illness is the body’s way of telling us that there is a false idea in our consciousness. Something that we are believing, saying, doing or thinking is not for our highest food.”

Positive efficient affirmations to map your future

“Sometimes people do want to get sick. In our society, we have made illness a legitimate way to avoid responsibility or unpleasant situations. If we can’t learn to say no, then we may have to invent a disease to say no for us.”

“True healing involves body, mind and spirit. I believe that if we cure an illness, yet we do not address the emotional and spiritual issues that surround that ailment, it will only manifest itself again and again.”

If you want to know more about what Dr. Bach advised and recommended, I highly advise you to read my introductory article about Dr. Bach Flower Remedy Therapies

“If you want to create better health in your body, there are definitely some things you must not do: You must not get angry on your body for any reason. Anger is another affirmation, and it’s telling your body that you hate it, or parts of it. However, if you’re a couch potato who feeds your body junk food and lots of diet soda, and you skimp on sleep and are grouchy and irritable all the time, then the cells in your body are working in disadvantage – they’re in a disagreeable atmosphere. If this is the case, it’s no wonder that your body isn’t as healthy as you would like it to be.”

Positive efficient affirmations to map your future

“You will never create good health by talking or thinking about illness. Good health comes from love and appreciation. You want to put as much love into your body as you possibly can. Talk to it and stroke it in loving ways. If there’s a part in your body that’s ailing or diseased, then you want to treat it as you would with a sick little child. Tell it how much you love it, and that you are doing everything you can to help it get well quickly.”

Positive efficient affirmations to map your future

“You can choose to think thoughts that create a mental atmosphere that contributes to illness, or you can choose to think thoughts that create a healthy atmosphere both within you and around you.”

Positive efficient affirmations to map your future

“Another false assumption is that you must be an artist to be creative. That’s just one form of creativity, and there are so many more. You are creating every moment of your life – from the most common, ordinary creation of new cells in your body, to your emotional responses, to your present job, to your bank account, to your relationships with friends and to your very attitudes about yourself. It’s all creativity.”

What I learned from Station 11 by Emily St. John Mandel

Emily St. John Mandel imagined a world destroyed by a terrible flu, with few people remaining on Earth. The collapse is so well put into scenery that you will not think the same about the world after you have read it.

What I learned from reading Station 11

You will enjoy everything that civilization brings, yet at the same time, you will feel that, no matter how good or bad the world would be or the situation in the world would be, there are still things that perpetuate, that never actually die, no matter what apocalypse would come. The infinity of people’s hopes for the better, the fears, the lives, the stereotypes of people who lead or want to lead and enslave others through their dogmas.

What I learned from reading Station 11

And still, in all that, there is beauty. The life, the light, you, me, every single one of us.

Here are some of my favorite things read or put into a different perspective throughout the book:

The bright side of the planet moves towards darkness

And the cities are falling asleep, each in its hour,

And for me, now as then, it is too much.

There is too much world.

-Czeslaw Milosz

What I learned from reading Station 11

So this is how it ends, she thought, when the call was over, and she was soothed by the banality of it. You get a phone call in a foreign country, and just like that the man with whom you once thought you’d grow old has departed from this earth.

What I learned from reading Station 11

People want was the best about the world.

What I learned from reading Station 11

I stood looking over my damaged home and tried to forget the sweetness of life on Earth.

What I learned from reading Station 11

The best advice her mother ever gave her: Walk in like you own the place.

What I learned from reading Station 11

Hell is the absence of people you long for.

What I learned from reading Station 11

On silent afternoons in his brother’s apartment, Jeevan found himself thinking about how human the city is, how human everything is. We bemoaned the impersonality of the modern world, but that was a lie, it seemed to him; it had never been impersonal at all. There had always been a massive delicate infrastructure of people, all of them working unnoticed around us, and when people stop going to work, the entire operation grinds to a halt. No one delivers fuel to the gas stations or the airports. Cars are stranded. Airplanes cannot fly. Trucks remain at their points of origin. Food never reaches the cities; grocery stores close. Businesses are locked and then looted. No one comes to work at the power plants or the substations, no one removes fallen trees from electrical lines.

What I learned from reading Station 11

I have been thinking about immortality lately. What it means to be remembered, what I want to be remembered for, certain questions concerning memory and fame. I love watching old movies. I watch the faces of long-dead actors on the screen, and I think about how they’ll never truly die. I know that’s a cliche, but it happens to be true. Not just the famous ones who everyone knows, the Clark Gables, the Ava Gardens, but the bit players, the maid carrying the tray, the butler, the cowboys in the bar, the third girl from the left in the night club. They’re all immortal to me. First we only want to be seen, but once we’re seen, that’s not enough anymore. After that, we want to be remembered.

What I learned from reading Station 11

doesn’t it seem to you that the people who have the hardest time in this – in this current era, whatever you may want to call it, doesn’t it seem like the people who struggle the most with it are the people who remember the old world clearly ?

What I learned from reading Station 11

he had a way of moving so quietly that he seemed to materialize out of nowhere.

Station 11 will take you to a personal exploration of how you would feel if there were no more TV’s, no more internet, no more electricity or hot water. And it brings you back to reality, which we should all appreciate more and be grateful for each day. As we have the privilege of all that civilization is now. We are free.

What I learned from reading Station 11

Just step out of your mind into the world…

Life Advice from The Signature of All Things – Part II

“Beatrix instructed Prudence that she must never say back and forth, when backwards and forwards was so much more refined. The word fancy in any context sounded crude, as did the word folks. When one wrote a letter at White Acre, it went sent in the post, not the mailA person did not fall sick; a person fell ill. One was not partly there; one was nearly there. One did not stove along; one hurried along. And one did not talk in this family; one conversed.”

“Shyness is simply another species of vanity. Banish it.”

“I also wish to speak to you, Prudence, about Mr. Edward Porter’s behavior this evening at the dinning table. You should not have let that man stare at you for quite so long as you did. Engrossment of this sort is demeaning to all. You mustdailyweeklyfavorites.com learn how to abort this sort of behavior in men by speaking to them with intelligence and firmness about serious topics. It is not sufficient to be merely good, you must also become clever. As a woman, of course, you will always have a heightened moral awareness over men, but if you do not sharpen your wits in defense of yourself, your morality will serve you little good.”

How to say thank you:

“I offer you my unfeigned thanks for your encouragement. Unfortunately, my thanks are the only compensation I can make at the moment, but they are sincere.”

“Wild creatures belong in wild places.”

“Don’t go too far with the cleaning. A little neglect can be of benefit. Have you ever noticed how the most splendid lilacs, for instance, are the ones that grow up alongside derelict barns and abandoned shacks ? Sometimes beauty needs a bit of ignoring, to properly come into being.”

“If you ask me what I believe, I shall tell you this: the whole sphere of air that surrounds us is alive with invisible attractions – electric, magnetic, fiery and thoughtful. There is a universal sympathy all around us. There is hidden means of knowing. When we cease all argument and debate – both internal and external – our true questions can be heard and answered. That is the powerful mover. That is the book of nature, written neither in Greek nor in Latin. That is the gathering of magic, and it is a gathering that, I have always believed and wished, can be shared.”
